Why there is no cookie banner

Consent banners exist because most sites place cookies or similar tracking for advertising and analytics. We don't. Our analytics is cookieless and does not identify you, and the only things the statement audit stores in your browser are the items listed below, which exist purely to make the feature you asked for work.

If we ever add anything that tracks you or shares data with advertisers, we will ask for your consent before it runs, and this page will say so.

What is stored in your browser

The statement audit uses your browser's own storage rather than cookies. Nothing here is sent to us or to anyone else. You can clear all of it at any time through your browser's "clear site data" settings, though clearing it means you'll have to unlock the tool again with your email.

Unlock token

Stored in local storage after you pay, so this browser can see the full results again without paying twice. Contains your email address and an expiry, signed so it cannot be altered. Expires after 180 days.

Pending result

Stored in session storage for the few seconds between starting checkout and returning from Stripe, so you don't have to open your statement again. Holds the summary produced from your statement, never the statement file itself, and is cleared as soon as you return and when you close the tab.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views, so we know whether anyone is finding the site. It sets no cookies, does not store IP addresses, and cannot follow you to other websites. It tells us that a page was viewed, not who viewed it.

Third party content

This site loads no third party fonts, videos, maps, social widgets or embeds. Fonts are served from our own domain. The only third party you interact with is Stripe, and only at the moment you choose to pay, on Stripe's own checkout page under Stripe's privacy policy and cookie practices.
