Privacy policy

Slow Leak Subs is operated by Angus Muma (ABN 46 651 657 225), a sole trader based in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia ("we", "us"). This policy explains what personal information we collect through slowleaksubs.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how long we keep it.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the information privacy principles in New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020, whether or not we are legally required to.
The short version. Your bank statement is read on your own device and is never sent to us. The only personal information we hold is your email address and, if you pay to unlock full results, a record that you paid.
What we collect, and why
The statement audit
- Your statement and the transactions on it are not collected. The file is parsed in your browser, on your device. It is never uploaded, transmitted or written to any server or database we operate. We cannot see it.
- Payment. If you choose to unlock full results you are taken to a checkout page operated by Stripe. Stripe collects your card details and email address directly; we never see or store your card number. We keep your email address, the amount and date of the payment, and Stripe's reference for it, so that we can recognise you if you come back and not charge you twice.
- Unlocking a second device. If you ask us to unlock a browser you have not paid on, we use the email address you enter to check whether it matches a payment record, and if it does we send a time-limited link to that address.
Contact
If you email us we keep the correspondence for as long as needed to deal with your query and for a reasonable period afterwards.
Website analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It does not use cookies, does not store IP addresses, and does not track you across other sites. See the cookie policy for what the site stores in your browser and why.
What we don't do
- We don't ask for your banking login and never connect to your bank.
- We don't sell, rent or trade personal information.
- We don't use your information for advertising or profiling.
- We don't send marketing email.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run Slow Leak Subs. Each only receives what it needs to do its job and acts on our instructions:
- Stripe processes payments (Stripe privacy policy).
- Supabase hosts the payment-record database.
- Resend sends unlock links.
- Vercel hosts the website and provides the analytics described above.
Some of these providers store or process information on servers outside Australia and New Zealand, including in the United States. By using the site you acknowledge that your information may be handled overseas by these providers, each of which publishes its own privacy and security commitments. We don't otherwise disclose personal information unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Payment records: for as long as needed to honour the "pay once" unlock and to meet Australian tax record-keeping requirements, currently five years from the date of payment.
- Correspondence: for as long as needed to resolve your query and for a reasonable period afterwards.
- Bank statement data: not kept at all, because we never receive it.
Security
Connections to the site are encrypted. The database that holds email addresses and payment records is access-controlled and can only be read by our own server code. Payment card details are handled entirely by Stripe. Because your statement never reaches us, it cannot be exposed by a breach on our side.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@slowleaksubs.com. We'll respond within 30 days. Where a law requires us to keep a payment record for a set period we'll tell you, and we can remove your email address from it while keeping the rest.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle a complaint, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner or, in New Zealand, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
Age
Slow Leak Subs is intended for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change we'll update the date at the top of this page. The version published here at the time applies.
